Be part of an exciting new community plant nursery at the Walled Garden at Mells

About The Event
The Walled Garden at Mells is launching a new Community Plant Nursery this year.
Its purpose is to create a financially sustainable social enterprise that applies the principles of therapeutic horticulture to tackle isolation whether that be social, economic, geographic or generational, whilst giving community groups and local people the opportunity to learn about growing plants.
If you are interested in helping get this initiative off the ground or just love being involved with plants come and enjoy a slice of pizza and hear about what we are planning to do.
We are looking for all sort of help such as volunteer time, skills and expertise and in-kind donations including:
• Volunteering with participants
• Outreaching to community groups to tell them about this new resource
• Repairing and building to get it operational (Plant benches; raised beds; shelter; workshop space, landscaping)
• Nursery design
• Irrigation systems
• Setting up a vermiculture system
Please use the Tithe Barn entrance to the garden any time after 6. Tour of the nursery at 7.00
